Back to School! Memories of the Oberlin Public Schools

Back to School! Memories of the Oberlin Public Schools

OHC will have a representative at the exhibit on Dec. 6 & 13 from 12-5pm to answer your questions!
In this exhibit you will encounter some of the many objects and images from the Oberlin Heritage Center’s collection alongside excerpts from the Oberlin Oral History Project.

Together, these items document the central place Oberlin public schools occupy in the collective memory of the community. We hope you take time to reflect on your own school experiences and share some memories of your own!

About the Oberlin Heritage Center

The Oberlin Heritage Center (OHC) is a local historical society in Oberlin, Ohio and an active community-based nonprofit that offers tours of three historic buildings, city history walks, youth and adult educational programs, special events, and more. Oberlin’s nationally significant history of striving for universal education and social equality, as well as the unique life stories of varied community members, resonate with residents and visitors. OHC is also the community’s historic preservation organization and assists many residents and scholars with research. OHC is one of 42 Ohio museums accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and strives for engaging interpretation, responsible stewardship of historical resources, and administrative excellence.
